After about eight years of horse ownership, and eighteen years living in an equestrian community, we are finally going to clear and grade our 2.47 acres in preparation to bring our 'girls' home. Under normal conditions (and proper pasture management) two acres can support one horse (though the HOA allows one horse per half acre) but our property sits on a hill with a small creek at the bottom (requiring a 20ft buffer) and a 30ft easement lies on the edige of two side of our property for the neighborhood bridle path so we will require a barn and stall time to support our 3 plus horses. The construction crew put up a silt fence, cut in a road up front, and have begun to clear away the trees- Stay tuned for updates!!!
